  • Jennifer McKenzie

    FOUNDER/ON-BOARDING CERTIFIED

The Venerable Jennifer McKenzie, a 2004 graduate of Virginia Theological Seminary (VTS), has been working as a priest in the Episcopal Church since 2005. Before becoming ordained, she served churches in California, Virginia, and D.C. as a parish administrator, youth worker, and seminarian.

In 2015, she was collated as Archdeacon of Wigan & West Lancashire, a senior cleric in the Liverpool Diocese (UK), where she oversaw the mission and ministry of 60 parish churches and missions and was a canon at Liverpool Cathedral. She returned to the US permanently in 2021 and is serving part-time as Dean’s Advisor for New Initiatives at VTS and is the founder of Church Re-Imagined, a consulting firm that is all about transforming churches and the people who lead them.

  • Melissa Rau

    SENIOR CONSULTANT

A bold and passionate lay leader, Melissa Rau has helped churches and organizations shift their culture and live more fully into what God has called them to be and do. Specializing in church-wide strategic visioning and planning, she understands formation, discipleship, and congregational development to be some of the more essential pillars in strengthening Christian communities.

Rau has worked (or is currently working) with organizations such as Bexley Seabury Seminary, the Episcopal Church Foundation, and countless dioceses, parishes, and other faith communities throughout the Episcopal Church and beyond. One of her favorite things she gets to do is host For People with Bishop Rob Wright, a popular faith-based podcast with the Episcopal Diocese of Atlanta.

Her joyful outlook and abiding faith in God aren’t jaded by her perpetual state of hopeful dissatisfaction. Melissa believes the church to be the most effective vehicle for sharing the power of God’s love if only we pull ourselves together and do more of the things that matter and way less of the things that don’t.

Married in 1999, Melissa’s life-partner, Mike, is an Episcopal priest and rector at St. Mark’s in Venice, Florida. They have three young-adult children together. When she’s not working, Melissa is probably reading a book, gardening, hanging out with her family and friends, or cuddling with Francis and/or Philly—her labradoodles.
